Visit Olympia - Five day tour of the Peloponessus area DAY ONE: Athens to Nafplion: Drive south on the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Continue to Mycenae and visit the archeological site. Proceed and visit the famous theatre of Epidaurus. Return and stay overnight in Nafplion, first capital of modern Greece, a beautiful town crowned by the mighty Palamidi Fortress. DAY TWO: Nafplion - Mystras - Monemvasia: Leave for Mystras, the ruined medieval citadel, religious shelter during the Byzantine Empire, near Sparti. Visit the inspiring Churches that are an example of the Byzantine artwork and architecture. Drive to Sparti where you will have time at leisure to stroll in the picturesque city. Dinner and overnight. Drive via Gythio to arrive at Monemvasia, the Byzantine fortress where you will visit the Castle and have the time to stroll around the cobblestone streets of the medieval city and enjoy the view on the Aegean sea. Overnight. DAY THREE: Monemvasia to Pylos: Drive from Monemvasia through the Mani area to Areopolis. Visit of the Diros' Caves (Spilea of Dirou). Continue for the beautiful city of Pylos. Overnight. DAY FOUR: Pylos to Olympia: On your way to Olympia the cradle of the Olympic Games, visit King's Nestor Palace. Arrive at Olympia and visit the archaeological site and the Museum. Overnight. DAY FIVE: Olympia - Patras - Diakofto - Kalavryta - Athens: Drive to Diakofto where you take the well known Odontotos train through the Gorge of Vouraikos. Traditional funicular train that unravels the natural beauties of the Gorge and goes to Kalavryta, a mountain picturesque village, the place where the Greek revolution was born in 1821.
